‘His Hunger For Runs Makes Him Different From Others’, Harbhajan Singh Lauds For This Star Indian Batter

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has praised the young Indian batter Shubman Gill for his consistent performance in all the formats for India and IPL. Harbhajan said that the young batter is different from other batters as he has more hunger for runs than his other competitors.

Gill came into limelight after India’s victorious campaign in the 2018 U-19 Cricket World Cup. In that tournament, he was awarded the Player of the Series. After making his debut for the senior Indian cricket team in 2019, he made amazing progress in his cricket career. Currently, he has achieved remarkable milestones. He has scored a double century in ODIs and became the fifth batter to score a ton in all three formats of the game.

While talking to News24, Harbhajan Singh said,”Shubman is very passionate about his game. His hunger makes him different from the other players because he has the belief to do something and become something.”

“The hard work his father has put in, the only way that can be repaid is if he plays for India for 15-20 years. The talent and the sort of mindset he has, whatever little I know about him, he is an outstanding player. It is so pleasing to watch when he bats,” he further added.

Shubman Gill’s father played an important role in making him a batting sensation of India. Gill was born in a small town of Punjab named Fazilka. His father Lakhwinder Singh took him to Mohali to provide him better facilities in cricket.

“I hope that he will continue to play for India for many years and one day he will lead the team as well. Then only his father will get satisfied. The satisfaction will be for both him and Punjab because he is our son,” concluded the veteran spinner.
