Healy Storm Become The Reason Of The Fourth Loss For RCB In WPL

Once again, the stars of Royal Challengers Bangalore failed against UP Warriors in the eighth match of the Women’s Premier League 2023. UP Warriors defeated RCB by 10 wickets in this match, securing their second win. At the same time, the RCB team had to face their fourth consecutive defeat.

RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to bat first, but her decision did not work. Batting first, the RCB team piled on 138 runs in 19.3 overs. In response, UP opened the match by scoring 139 runs in 13 overs without any loss.

From RCB, Ellyse Perry scored the most runs for RCB. She played an inning of 52 runs in 39 balls and hit six fours and a six. Apart from her, only Sophie Devine (36 runs) could face the UP bowlers for some time. RCB captain Smriti Mandhana disappointed the team, and she was able to score only four runs.

In response, UP Warriors won the match by scoring 139 runs without losing a wicket in 13 overs with 42 balls remaining.

Alyssa Healy batted brilliantly while chasing the target of 139 runs. She played a match-winning unbeaten inning of 96 runs in 47 balls with the help of 18 fours and a six. Healy became the highest individual scorer in WPL 2023. Along with this, Alyssa Healy and Devika Vaidya shared a 139-run partnership for the first wicket. Devika scored an unbeaten 36 off 31 balls with the help of five fours.
