Star Indian batter KL Rahul gottten trusted again for the first Test match versus Bangladesh starting on the nineteenth day of September, twenty twenty-three. The experienced player who last played a Test match earlier this year when England visited India is expected to take his position back from Sarfaraz Khan, who impressed in his first call-up to represent the country. If you don’t know, Rahul only dropped out because he got injured. In analyzing the team, former Indian player Aakash Chopra pointed out that Rahul needs to prove himself.
According to Akash Chopra, since Rahul has been dropped so many times from the team, if this 50-Test veteran fails to make runs, ‘an atmosphere will be created’ in which he is expelled out again.
“I personally like KL Rahul as a player. He will have to score runs. If he keeps scoring runs, he will keep moving forward. His fate is that he will always be in the shadows of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. These are the big guys. I feel Rahul is super talented and super skilled. He will keep playing until he keeps scoring runs. Although the team rates him very highly, an atmosphere gets created against him very quickly in Indian cricket,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.
Chopra went on to say that if he were the selector, he would have had a lot of “tough runs” in mind before backing someone like Rahul for a long period.
“There are numerous individuals who constantly attack him. Consequently, he won’t be given as much leeway as one would give any other young player with the same capacity or lineage. But I would surely support him since he has played well over the years and scored difficult runs,” he added.
