Mohammad Kaif, a former batter for India, believes Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will win their crucial IPL 2024 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday. In Bengaluru, RCB and CSK square off for a spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs.
Kaif says that CSK is a team for the big moments, citing their victory over Gujarat Titans in the 2017 IPL final thanks to boundaries hit by Ravindra Jadeja in the final two deliveries.
According to Kaif, CSK often performs well in games that are either win or lose, and having former captain MS Dhoni will help the squad.
CSK is a team that thrives in big games and understands how to win elimination matches. They were losing the final, two balls, ten runs, when they last won the Indian Premier League in 2023. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of CSK, will benefit from Dhoni’s ability to understand the game and his rare lack of blunders in the crucial match against RCB, according to Kaif.
“Dhoni’s secret to winning crunch games is to remain calm and take deep breaths; no one else possesses this skill. Many IPL leaders attended, but Dhoni’s level of awareness throughout the game’s pivotal moments is unparalleled. They are a champion team because he makes very few mistakes [Dhoni galtiyan kam karte hai isliye CSK champion team hai]. As a result, CSK is the favorite versus RCB in the important league game,” he continued.
CSK has a strong record against RCB, having won 22 of the previous 33 encounters. On the first day of the 2024 Indian Premier League in Chennai, the reigning champions had also triumphed in the rematch.
