One of the greatest batsmen in the longest format of the game, Joe Root, is finally back among the runs in an ongoing series against India.
Joe Root had a tough time with the bat, as the veteran batter only had 77 runs across the six innings with a highest score of 29.
But in the fourth test match of the series, which is being played in Ranchi, Joe Root once again showed his class as he went on to score his 31st hundred in the longest format of the game.
However, after the day’s play got over England’s opener, it was all praise for Joe Root for his phenomenal knock.
Crawley said, “We’re chuffed for him, to be honest. We never doubted Joe; we just think if he gets a couple of lowies, he’s even more due than before, so we fully expected him to go out and get runs in this game. He deserves everything he gets; he works so hard at his game, and he always comes good.”
Crawley even further went on to say that it was only Joe Root who could play this kind of innings, He is the best batter of our team.”
Joe Root, along with Ben Fokes, added 114 runs to bring England back into the game after they lost half of their side with just 112 on the board.
Speaking of the day’s play, the England team is inching closer to a very competitive score as they have currently scored 302/7, with Joe Root (106) and Ollie Robinson (31) taking things forward for the visitors.
