‘He Is Like Mohammad Azharuddin Of Current Era’, Navjot Singh Sidhu Names The Most Impressive Indian Cricketer

Mohammad Azharuddin began his Test cricket career with a remarkable feat of scoring centuries in three consecutive matches. This record remains unbroken despite many players making impressive starts. Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was part of Azhar’s team, recently drew a comparison between the young Yashasvi Jaiswal and the legendary cricketer.

Jaiswal impressively began his Test career and scored over 700 runs in a five-match series against England. However, he struggled to maintain his form in the Indian Premier League 2024. Despite a rough start in the first seven matches, he has made a comeback with a century against Mumbai Indians in Jaipur.

Yashasvi Jaiswal got lucky when a fielder from MI dropped his catch. Jaiswal then took advantage of that by scoring his second IPL century. Sidhu has always praised Yashasvi from the start of the season, saying he doesn’t have any problems with his technique and just needs to spend more time at the crease.

While talking to Star Sports, Kaif said, “Jaiswal finally followed the suggestion and came up with a brilliant knock. “He is like Mohammad Azharuddin. Jaiswal had a brilliant start to his career but failed in IPL. Azhar had a similar story and came out of poor form with flying colors. Jaiswal did the same. You can’t run away from failures in cricket as they are bound to happen. Cricket is a great leveler.”

In the match against Mumbai Indians, Yashasvi smashed an unbeaten 104 runs from 60 balls which includes 9 fours and 7 sixes. His outstanding performance led Rajasthan to a 9-wicket victory while chasing a target of 180.
