‘He Is a Very Important Member Of The Team’, Yuvraj Singh Shouts For The Inclusion Of This Star Indian All-rounder In The T20 World Cup

Former Indian legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has expressed his support for Hardik Pandya’s inclusion in the T20 World Cup 2024. He said that the all-rounder is very crucial for the team in the upcoming mega ICC tournament. Pandya has been sidelined from the Indian team for several months due to an ankle injury suffered during the ODI World Cup in 2023.

Despite missing the recent T20I series against Australia, South Africa, and Afghanistan, the dynamic all-rounder is putting in major efforts to regain fitness before the Indian Premier League, after which all the major teams will be looking to participate in the T20 World Cup.

Due to Rohit Sharma’s absence, Hardik Pandya took on the leadership role for the Indian team in the shortest format last year. However, his injury has disrupted his preparations for the ODI World Cup.

Yuvraj Singh feels that Hardik Pandya gets injured more and more often, however, the Indian team management should look to use the maximum potential of an all-rounder.

While speaking to Times Of India, Yuvraj Singh said, “Hardik is a very important member of the team and India needs him. He is injury-prone and we need to give him time to recuperate and settle down. We have to get the best out of him. As for captaincy, we need to have more options. There is Suryakumar Yadav, who has been captaining India in T20Is. There is Shubman Gill, who is captain in the IPL.”

The 30-year-old has been focused on his journey to recovery and he posts about himself regularly on social media.
