‘He Did Not Do Anything Extraordinary’, Harbhajan Singh Slams Anchor For Praising MS Dhoni Too Much

MS Dhoni is widely regarded as the top cricketer in IPL history. Under his captaincy Chennai Super Kings has won the tournament five times. Former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh, who has also been part of Dhoni’s team, was previously with the Mumbai Indians before moving to Chennai.

Both Chennai and Mumbai Indians have a longstanding rivalry at the ground and experts often claim their matches as El Classico of the IPL.

MI and CSK faced off in the final for the first time in 2010 where CSK won the match by 22 runs to claim their first trophy. Batting first, CSK scored 168/5, led by Suresh Raina’s 57 runs off 35 balls which includes 3 sixes and 4 fours.

Dhoni hit 22 runs from 15 balls, including 2 fours and a six with one hand. Mumbai had many important players, but they only managed to score 146/9. Sachin Tendulkar made 48 runs, but the other batsmen couldn’t perform well. Kieron Pollard tried hard in the final overs, scoring 27 runs from 10 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, but it wasn’t sufficient to alter the result.

The Star Sports anchor Tanay Tiwari was applauding Dhoni for hitting only one six in the game. This comment didn’t sit well with Harbhajan Singh, who criticized him for focusing too much on the former CSK captain.

“Dhoni didn’t do anything extraordinary. Even Kieron Pollard hit sixes in that game. Hitting a six with one hand is not a big thing. It happens in a game,” Harbhajan Singh said.
