He Can Replace Rishabh Pant In IPL 2023 For Delhi Capitals; Former Indian Cricketer Noteworthy Suggestion

Indian team star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant was involved in a car accident on 30th December 2022, after which he was admitted to Max Dehradun Hospital. Looking at the injuries on the head, leg, back, and ligament, he was airlifted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Currently, his condition is stable and will take approx. 8-9 months to fit in and join any cricketing practice.

Looking at the upcoming Indian premier league edition, his fans were asking about his availability. The newly appointed director of Delhi Capitals Sourav Ganguly revealed that Rishabh would not be available for the IPL 2023. Now Delhi Capitals is also searching for a player who can lead the team in the upcoming edition.

Talking about the Rishabh Pant’s replacement, former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha suggested that Phil Salt, who DC picked on 2cr, is likely to replace Pant.

This statement came from Ojha after looking at the Salt’s performance in the SAT20 with Pretoria Capitals, a sister DC franchise.

“The most important thing is when you talk about their sister franchise (DC), the situation they are in, they would need someone like Salt to keep and deliver the way he’s delivered here. And I think all these think tanks will be looking at him as a resource where he can come in and fix those puzzles which they have a small gap,” said Pragyan Ojha.

Salt smashed a blistering fifty in the opening match; he scored 77 off 47 balls and won by 23 runs against Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

However, another South African bowler, a teammate of Delhi Capitals, registered an impressive bowling figure in the first match of 2/18 in four overs.

Looking at the performance of both players, Ojha applauded the pacers and predicted that they would perform amazingly in the upcoming Indian Premier League edition.
