The former Indian captain MS Dhoni remains the best Indian player when it comes to finishing cricket matches. Even at 42, he continues to secure victories for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024. While Dinesh Karthik, Ashutosh Sharma, and Abdul Samad are notable finishers in the 17th season, Rinku Singh stands out among them.
Former Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu have praised Rinku Singh’s performances for KKR in the ongoing season of IPL 2024.
The former off-spinner said, “Rinku will become a finisher like MS Dhoni as he bats at a position where more often than not, the southpaw will get opportunities to win games for the franchise and Team India.”
Sidhu highlighted Rinku’s calm nature. “I have been saying that Rinku Singh is the second-best finisher after MS Dhoni. He will become like Dhoni with exposure to tough conditions. Like Dhoni, he doesn’t take pressure and believes in taking his team to the finishing line,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said.
Rinku hasn’t had much chance to play this season due to injuries affecting his performance. KKR has been using him as a substitute player to make a difference in games.
In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rinku Singh scored 24 runs off 16 balls and was then sent to the pavilion by Lockie Ferguson.
