BCCI is in full swing regarding the preparation for the 2023 ODI World Cup set to happen this year in India. On Sunday(January 1), a report suggested that all the big names which include skipper Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid, NCA head VVS Laxman, chief selector Chetan Sharma, and the BCCI head Roger Binny took a special discussion over the ODI marquee event where they shortlisted 20 players for the ODI World Cup.
However, the name of these players have not been revealed but the BCCI will work with them accordingly to bring out the best in them. The report claimed that these players will be rotated till the ODI World Cup 2023 and the selection committee members will keep an eye on these players.
Meanwhile, the legendary and most celebrated cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has predicted the names of 21 cricketers who could be there on BCCI’s radar for the upcoming ODI World Cup. It was just a wild guess from the commentator, but whatever the names he has taken seem to be most fitted.
The names include – Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, the famous Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur.
While jumping on his Twitter and making an official tweet, Harsha Bhogle said, “I would imagine this is the core that selectors & team management would work with: Rohit, Rahul, Gill, Virat, Shreyas, Ishan, Rishabh, Sky, Samson, Pandya, Axar, Jadeja, Washington, Kuldeep, Chahal, Bumrah, Shami, Arshdeep, Prasidh, Siraj, Shardul. This is 21. My next 2: Patidar & Umran.”
Let us tell you that currently, the Indian cricket team will now take on Sri Lanka from January 3 where a three-match T20I series will be played between both teams. For this series, Hardik Pandya will lead the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma and some other senior players.
