Harsha Bhogale drops a massive request for BCCI amid team India’s poor performance

All kinds of news are flying around on social media that if India lost to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last week, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking into stricter protocols for its tours. ESPNcricinfo reported that while on tour, BCCI will limit the time that cricketers could spend with their families as only a maximum of 14 days will be allowed for family visits on a tour of 45 days.

The report will also conclude that Indian players will not be given the independent transport to use to visit practicegrounds and travel to Matches.

India captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and chief selector Ajith Agarkar were informed regarding what was discussed at the meeting with BCCI officials in Mumbai last Saturday.

Veteran commentator Harsha Bhogla shares her view on such suggestions and believes it would be more justified for BCCI to ban players from taking their private PR agencies.

“Reading of the changes the BCCI is apparently suggesting for the Indian team. I don’t know how much is true of this; still, if I was given a Platonic category, it would be to ban the players from taking on a personal PR agency,” Bhogle posted on X.

After losing against Australia, seniors like Rohit and Virat Kohli came under the scanner after reportedly appearing poor with the bat throughout the series.

Even skipper Rohit Sharma scored 31 runs from three matches and five innings at an average of 6.20, while Kohli managed 190 runs from five matches and nine innings, with a poor average of 23.75 with a piece.

Another black mark over Gambhir is his career as head coach still remaining uncertain. The BCCI would be making announcements regarding his position in February-March post the Champions Trophy.
