Harry Brook Gets Strong Chance For ODI World Inclusion, Sends Alert To Jason Roy And Malan

Harry Brook has not been selected for England’s provisional squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup, both head coach Matthew Motts and many of his fellow players believe that there is still a chance for the young cricketer to make the team if he performs at his best. The current situation seems favorable for Brook as he has received an important opportunity to showcase his skills by being included as batting cover in the ODI series against New Zealand and Ireland.

Harry Brook has caught the attention of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) with an outstanding century in The Hundred tournament and his performances in the first two T20Is against New Zealand. As a result, the team management has decided to include him in the ODI series against Ireland, with the aim of closely monitoring and nurturing his progress and development.

If Harry Brook successfully secures his place in the squad, there will be a pressure on Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, and Dawid Malan to perform superbly before the ODI World Cup. Dawid Malan faces the additional challenge of proving himself in subcontinental conditions, despite having achieved two centuries in ODI cricket during the 2022/23 season. Similarly, Jason Roy has also got two centuries during this period. In contrast, Liam Livingstone brings the advantage of significant experience playing in India, along with his valuable spin bowling skills which could be an asset for the team in the tournament.
