Hardik Pandya appears to have gotten past his IPL 2024 ordeal, according to former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop, and he is focused on the T20 World Cup campaign. Bishop made these remarks after Hardik contributed all-around to India’s 60-run victory over Bangladesh in their lone practice match on Saturday in New York.
After Namibia’s Super Over victory over Oman in Barbados, Ian Bishop gave some thought to Hardik Pandya’s impressive performance at the Nassau County Cricket Ground. He expressed his belief that the Indian cricket team’s stars would have come together in support of Hardk had he joined the team in the United States.
“He has a powerful personality, in my opinion. I would have liked to think that the team would have come together in support of him. Some of what he went through in the Indian Premier League was not his fault.
“Fans are free to express their opinions however they see appropriate; I just wish they could have done it perhaps in a slightly better way. “He has undoubtedly advanced to the greatest level in T20 international cricket, and that entire scenario is still in front of us. But Ian Bishop observed, “Hardik as a strong guy.”
Meanwhile,India, led by Rohit Sharma, will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland in New York on Wednesday, June 5 before taking on Pakistan on Sunday, June 9.
