Hardik Pandya drops a massive statement regarding Rohit Sharma’s form

Hardik Pandya mentioned that Rohit Sharma’s batting form wasn’t a worry for the Mumbai Indians (MI) during the IPL 2025. On April 20, Rohit earned the Player of the Match award after MI beat the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by nine wickets at the Wankhede Stadium. He scored an impressive 76 not out from 45 balls, with six fours and five sixes, leading MI to chase down 177 runs with 26 balls to spare. Rohit also teamed up with Suryakumar Yadav for a strong second-wicket partnership, adding 114 runs together, with Yadav scoring 68 and hitting the winning six.

After managing only 82 runs in his first six games, Rohit’s comeback on Sunday showed he’s back on track. “You don’t need to worry about Rohit’s form. He’s going to perform like this. We knew that when he’s in form, the other team is in trouble. SKY supported him well,” Hardik said after the match.

MI chose to bowl first and limited CSK to 176 for five, then successfully chased the target in 15.4 overs. Hardik noted that MI has been focusing on the basics and playing smart cricket. People are stepping up. We’re keeping it simple and not trying to do anything fancy. We knew CSK was under pressure and aimed to stick to our game plan,” he explained. He also pointed out that their bowlers were a bit expensive but felt 175 runs was below par.

MI’s next game will be against Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday, April 23, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
