Mumbai Indians captain, Hardik Pandya, following their sixth consecutive victory in the IPL-a 100-run win over Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur-emphasized how staying humble and disciplined has become a priority for the team. The captain said after the match, “Everyone knows what we need to do. We’re keeping it simple, and it’s working for us. We want to stay humble, stay focused, and keep up the discipline.”
According to Hardik, another 15 runs were left on the field, and he stressed that playing smart shots was the need of the hour. Surya and I understand the value of every shot; Rohit and Ryan played the same way; it was an overall good batting effort. It’s not about giving the players different chances, but understanding what is needed in that situation, and as a team, I think we batted very well.
Mumbai batted and made 217. Riyan Parag, the fill-in captain for RR, paid tribute to MI’s performance, saying: “We have to give credit to MI. They kept their scoring going, and it really maintained control of the game. It just was not our day with the bat.”
He remarked, “We’ve been getting good starts, but that’s when it’s important for the middle order, including me and Dhruv, to step up when early wickets fall. We believe in ourselves, and if a case like today arises again, we will be ready.”
In reference to the season, Parag said: “We have done a few things right, a few things wrong. We have to focus on positives, learn from our mistakes, and try to avoid those little mistakes, especially in close matches.”
