In the last and final game of the three-match ODI series, India beat West Indies by 200 runs. With this, India won the series by 2-1. Despite a slow start with scores of five and seven in the initial two matches held in Bridgetown the star all-rounder Pandya managed to make a strong impact in the decider.

In the third ODI at the Brian Lara Stadium,Trinidad, Hardik Pandya had an opportunity to improve his performance with the bat. The 29-year-old showcased his prowess by scoring an impressive half-century. As the innings started, Pandya took his time and gathered 12 runs from his first 24 deliveries. After being settled, he took advantage of mistakes made by the West Indies bowlers in terms of their line and length.

Hardik Pandya played a brilliant knock and scored an unbeaten total of 70 runs from 52 balls. In this inning, he scored four fours and five sixes. After this aggressive finishing, team India managed to get 351 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.

While having a conversation during the post-match presentation, Pandya said,”I had a very wonderful chat with Virat a couple of days back, and the kind of input he gave me, he has seen me throughout the years. It’s been almost seven or eight years of international cricket and he has seen me from day one. He had some pointers which really helped me.”

“He just wanted me to spend some time on the crease and get used to the 50 or game as well because we have played so many T20 formats and yeah, that kind of stayed in my mind and I was just waiting for the opportunity. I’m really thankful to him as well to kind of share that experience with me,”he added.
