Former Indian legend Harbhajan Singh feels that Jasprit Bumrah is suggested to have a chance of becoming the highest paid player in IPL history, replacing Mitchell Starc. Historical editions of the tournament witnessed the Kolkata Knight Riders sponsoring star Aussie speedster Mitchel Starc at a mind blowing amount of Rs 24.75 crores.
According to Indian Spinner Harbhajan Singh, months before the auction in 2025, he believes Bumrah will be the player worth the astounding amount if and when he joins the auction. In the other opinion, as an Indian great bowler, Harbhajan Singh communicated in X, saying, “If Jasprit Bumrah put himself in the Auction. He will be the highest-paid IPL player in the history of IPL! Agree people?”
After learning or when the IPL 2025 retention guidelines are declared, the Mumbai Indians will also experience other hurdles including the controlling of the ever growing salary rates of the star players such as Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and so on. Should these four stars be retained, the franchise will have automatically incurred an expense of Rs 61 crore out of the available Rs 120 crore for rotations. Furthermore, the team shall also think of retaining some other players such as Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Tim David, and even Gerald Coetzee
On the other hand, various franchises will have to take some hard decisions as the time for making announcements of their retentions will be due on October 31st. For the case of the mega-auction, most of the big stars some of the franchises will have to release but as they do so, they will do it with the understanding that it will not be permanent because they will use the RTM card.
The forthcoming mega auction will come in quite handy for ailing lower teams since they will have more than enough room to fill fresh and new packs in place of the entire team.

According to PTI reports, it has been informed that the 2025 mega-audition is likely to follow the pattern of the last year conducting the same in a foreign land and it is highly expected that the Middle East will be the home of hosting the event.
