In the 35th match of IPL 2023, Gujarat Titans clashed with Mumbai Indians. The host team easily won the match by 55 runs. With this win, Gujarat has leveled with Chennai on the points table. Both the teams have got 10-10 points.
Talking about the match, Mumbai won the toss and decided to bowl first. Even though Mumbai won the toss in this match, nothing went in their team’s favor, either in the first or second innings. Bowling in the first innings, the Mumbai bowlers conceded more than expected runs. Riley Meredith took 1 wicket for 49 runs in four overs. At the same time, Cameron Green took 39 runs in 2 overs.
Mumbai’s batting in the second innings was also very disappointing. Chasing this huge target, none of the batters played a good inning. Captain Rohit Sharma could not do wonders once again.
During the post-match presentation after the match, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma said, “Yes, it feels bad that we had the match in hand till 15 overs, but again we bowled badly. But we failed in that. Look at which batsman you are bowling. Every team has its strength; our batting is good, so we were looking to chase the target.”
Rohit further said, “Although we struggled with the bat from the beginning, we did not perform well with the bat. We needed partnerships, needed to bat as long as possible.”
