Glenn Phillips drops a massive verdict on impact player rule

Gujarat Titans are ready to face off against Mumbai Indians in their next IPL match. The game will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 29, marking game 9 of the tournament. It’s worth mentioning that the Titans are heading into this match after a loss, while the Mumbai team is coming off a win.

Before this highly awaited game, Gujarat’s star Glenn Phillips chatted about several topics, including the impact player rule. With a lot of buzz around this rule lately, Phillips mentioned he’s not really sure where he stands on it. “I’m kind of in the middle. It allows teams to mix things up, but I worry about all-rounders not getting enough playtime, which could affect their roles in international matches,” he told PTI.

He also added that while the impact player rule is working for now, there’s a chance that a new rule could come in to make things even more exciting. On another note, Phillips backed the BCCI’s decision to suspend players who opted out of the IPL after being bought at the auction. He said, “At the end of the day, they knew the rules before joining. If the rules weren’t there, it might seem unfair, but the rules exist for a reason.”
