His international comeback. Rishabh Pant was last seen playing international cricket way back in 2022 against Bangladesh in a test series. After which, the youngster suffered a tragic car accident that caused him many injuries, forcing him to be out of action for over a year.
Rishabh Pant remained away from international cricket for over 15 months and recently made a comeback in the IPL 2024. However, Rishabh expressed his joy after being able to wear an Indian jersey again, saying that it’s a different feeling and he is happy to be back alongside his fellow teammates.
In a video shared by BCCI on social media, Rishabh Pant said, “Getting back on the field with the Indian jersey on, it’s a different feeling altogether, and this is something I missed a lot. I think seeing the teammates and meeting them again and spending time with them, having fun with them, and having conversations with them is really enjoyable. “
Rishabh Pant also shared his views about the T-20 World Cup being held in the USA and how he is adapting to the conditions here.
Rishabh said, “We’re used to playing in different countries, but this is a different prospect. It has opened up a different channel for sport because I feel cricket is growing around the world, and getting into a country like the US and getting exposure here would be nice for cricket as well as USA cricket, I guess. The new pitches are there, everything is getting set up, just getting used to the conditions. I think the sun is a little bit brighter over here, so I’m just getting used to it. Hopefully, I will make it count and make it better from here.”
The young wicketkeeper will be eager to perform once again for Team India as they are set to start their World Cup campaign with a warm-up game against Bangladesh. Team India is set to play their first game of the tournament against Ireland on June 5.
