From the withdrawal of Shubhman Gill to Rinku Singh’s comeback…. Here’s the update of the big changes happening in the Duleep trophy ahead of Bangladesh tests

The Duleep Trophy 2024 is currently ongoing, but with the BCCI naming the squad for the first Test of the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh starting later this month, a host of international Indian players are expected to withdraw from it and proceed to Chennai for a pre-series camp. The likes of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav among others might not feature in the second-round matches of India’s domestic season opener.

Sources say that their replacements have already been lined up such as Rinku Singh who is an India T20I batter and is likely to join the India B side. A 16-member squad under Rohit Sharma has been announced for two matches with Bangladesh from September 19 onwards while the team will assemble in Chennai on September 12 for preparatory purposes.

According to the report initiated by ESPNcricinfo, Dhruv Jurel and Akash Deep will leave camp including Gill ,rahul , Kuldeep Yadav whereas Shams Mulani, Akshay Wadkar, Pratham Singh, Shaik Rasheed as well as Pulkit Narang might come in their stead.

As a result, both Jaiswal and Pant will not be available for India B while Dayal has received the first test cap. The replacements are Rinku, Suyash Prabhudesai and Himanshu Mantri.

Moreover, the report also mentions that Sarfaraz Khan, who is in the India Test squad, is still set to participate in the second round of competition for India B. It’s important to note that second round matches must finish by September 15.

India D will lose Axar Patel and Tushar Deshpande due to injury. Vidhwath Kaverappa from India A squad will move to India D where he will be joined by Nishant Sindhu.
