Franchises want BCCI to take action on the foreign players due to this bizarre reason

A foreign player leaving the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the auction can be a problem for the team he was supposed to play for. The teams work hard to put together their squad, so it’s clear that losing a key player can upset the team’s balance. Many famous international players, like Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and Jason Roy, have left an IPL season before. Some had good reasons for doing so, but others didn’t give a clear explanation for their absence.

According to a report from Cricbuzz, the teams have asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to do something about foreign players who leave the event without good reasons. Some teams even want the Board to stop these players from playing in the event.

“During their private meetings with the BCCI CEO recently, team officials have asked for actions against players who have left without good reasons, with some even suggesting to ban these undependable players,” said the report.

A news report from PTI said that the money given to the teams might go up by 20 to 25 percent.

“I believe this increase will definitely happen. The usual rise is around 20 to 25 percent, so an amount between Rs 120 crore to 125 crore would be reasonable. Most teams should be okay with that,” an important person from one of the IPL teams told the news agency, but they didn’t want their name to be used.

But the bigger problem is keeping the players that the teams want, because each team needs different players.

Right now, IPL lets teams keep four players each year, with three being from India and one from another country. It is thought that most teams would like to keep five to six players.
