Former RCB and CSK spinner drops a massive difference between both the franchises

Shadab Jakati, who used to spin for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, spoke his mind about why the team hasn’t won an IPL title yet. Jakati, who only played one game for them after they bought him in 2014, said the team seems to only care about 2-3 players, and that hasn’t been a winning move. People have said before that the team depends too much on Virat Kohli and some big foreign players. Jakati said that getting the right team mix is key in the IPL, and that’s where Chennai Super Kings does things differently.

It’s all about teamwork. If you want to win, the whole team has to play together. You can’t win with just a couple of players. Chennai had some strong Indian players and some good foreign guys. Getting the right mix is important. When I was with RCB, they only seemed to care about a few players, Jakati told Sportskeeda.

The team management and the vibe in the dressing room were way different. The players were good, but they didn’t click as a team, Jakati said.

Jakati was with CSK when they won the IPL in 2010. He said the team management takes good care of its players, which is why they’ve won the title five times, tying the record.

Like I said, the team management is a big deal. Chennai’s management was really good. They treated their players well. It’s the little things that make a difference. That’s what I noticed between CSK and RCB, he said.

RCB will start their IPL 2025 season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday.
