Former Indian cricketer wants this player to play in place of Karun Nair in Lord’s

Sanjay Manjrekar, former Indian cricketer, has some doubts about the Indian team’s selection for the second Test against England. He is wondering why young batsman Sai Sudharsan was dropped after playing just one game.

In an ESPNcricinfo video, Manjrekar said even winning can make us forget bad calls but some decisions surprised him. He said, I didn’t agree with some of the choices for the last game. He said, A win can hide those decisions. I thought Sai Sudharsan would be dropped after one game, even though he is a future player. He played okay in the second innings. I would keep him but this team drops players based on how they feel.

Manjrekar then suggested Sai Sudharsan at No. 3 and said Karun Nair might not be suited for that spot. He said, I want to see Sai Sudharsan at number three. I don’t think Karun Nair is a number three player. He said, It’s not right to drop him after one Test if everyone else is scoring big. Sai should have that chance too.

Manjrekar also backed Karun Nair because of the emotional attachment to his selection and comeback. He said, I want Karun Nair to have another chance because of his story.

Manjrekar thought Nitish Kumar Reddy could make way for Nair lower down the order. He said, Maybe Nitish Kumar Reddy can make room for him lower down.
