The Indian cricket team is busy with a long Test season. Following the series against Bangladesh, India will then be up against New Zealand in a three-Test series beginning October 16th. Australia will also be visited by India in the month of November for the Border-Gavsakar Trophy. After the IPL next year, after almost back-to-back full series with all the countries; the next series will be with England, a five-match series whose first match will take place in Leeds on June 20th 2025, the other venues include Edgbaston, Lord’s, Old Trafford and The Oval.
The last time India was victorious in a Test series in England was in 2007. The team under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma wouldn’t want to leave a chance to better that record.
Pace great Sturat Broad from England who played 167 test matches, 121 ODIs and 56 T20Is said, it could be the last time for Virat Kohli to tour England.
As cited by nottinghampost.com Broad stated, “This could be the last tour for Virat in England.”
“They’re so talented and have headroom, whereas, England are somewhat younger and less seasoned but have a lot of talent and play front foot cricket.
“It is the type of series that you would want to watch every single ball. They will be up there, England, and yes it is going to be very, very tight. It will not be five-nil or four-nil, it will most likely come down to the last Test match. If the weather cooperates, I think the score will be two-two.”
He is looking forward to the series seeing a lot of action.
“It’s going to be a very different and special series” Broad remarked.
“Winning at Lord’s (in 2021) and tying the series was painful for England. It was an intense test match, where Mohammed Siraj was impressive on the last day, with a drier tampered pitch and finally finding that slight movement.”
“While I understand how much that loss has caused distress to the England wardrobe, it was an enjoyable, heartbreaking Test match to watch. At the same time, it was very pleasant for India to visit here – I mean the joy on Kohli’s face and I mean that meant a lot to him. On such an optimistic note, this series is sure to be a sociable wedding of games.”
