Exploring the Impact: Ex-IPL Official’s Perspective on Dhoni Playing with a Muscle Tear

It has been a very bustling year for cricket fans all over the world, as they are seeing probably the last of Ms. Dhoni in yellow jersey. Dhoni, on his part, is trying to give it back to the fans as much as possible for the amount of love that he is receiving.

However, in the last fixture in Chennai, Dhoni came out to bat at number 9 for CSK. It was a shocker to everyone to see Ms. batting at this position. Which led to huge criticism of the former Indian skipper from fans and cricket experts.

Following the chaos, a report was released in Times of India, which stated that Dhoni has a muscle tear that has stopped him from running in the field.

However, now former KKR director Joy Bhattacharya has shared his perspective on Dhoni playing with muscle tear.

In a post on X, Joy Bhattacharya wrote, “Here’s my Dhoni theory. He’s playing on with his muscle tears for his two most important constituencies: his fans and his team. The part about saying goodbye to his fans around the country is obvious. What we might be missing is why he chooses to play for the  team.”.

Joy further added, “Conway is injured, which means the only other keeper in their squad is young Aravelly Avanish, certainly quite a way off from first XI duties. Dhoni also probably wants to give just enough support to Ruturaj to make sure that the transition is smooth this time around. Next year is the big auction, and if he sees them through this year, they will go in with a lot of cash and a young core.”
