Before the 2023 ODI World Cup, India has to play an important tournament of Asia Cup. Before it, team India is going through a lot of debate and discussions and they are looking to make a perfect combination of young and experienced players for the Asia Cup as well.
The Star Sports expert panel has finalized their 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 which is scheduled to commence on August 30. The panel featured former India head coach Ravi Shastri has included Tilak Varma. Varma has recently marked his T20I debut against West Indies and he is yet to make his ODI debut.
Other than Varma, the squad comprises four spinners, namely Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja. Talking about the speedsters, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and Hardik Pandya have made their place.
In this squad, the batting group has Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma. The wicket-keeping options are Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma.
The squad has been selected with the consideration that KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer might not achieve full fitness in time for the Asia Cup. It’s important to note that both batsmen are currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru regain their match fitness.
