Exclusive: RCB Removes Mike Hesson And Sanjay Bangar Before IPL 2024, Hunting New Face For Next Edition

Royal Challengers Bangalore is yet to win a title after 16 years of IPL and like every year they have again made some big changes before the IPL 2024. Now the RCB franchise has parted away with their director Mike Hesson and coach Sanjay Bangar.

RCB had a disappointing performance in the IPL 2023 season. They finished at the sixth position in the points table with 7 victories out of 14 matches.

According to a report by Indian Express, the RCB franchise has released both these prime staff and now they are hunting a fresh and new face for the role. Not only these staffs, but bowling coach Adam Griffith is also likely to be removed from the franchise. However, it is still not clear whether RCB will hire a foreign or Indian coach for the next season.

Hesson became a part of RCB before the IPL 2020 season, while Bangar was brought in as a batting consultant by the franchise in 2021. Later on, Bangar was appointed as the head coach for RCB for the IPL 2022 and 2023 seasons.

RCB had a decent time from 2020 to 2022 where they made it into the playoffs. In IPL 2020, they reached the playoffs but were eliminated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator match. In IPL 2021, they faced defeat in the eliminator against Kolkata Knight Riders. In 2022, RCB won the first qualifier but failed to make it into the final after a defeat from Rajasthan Royals.
