Exclusive: Mohammed Shami Ruled Out Of IPL 2024, BCCI Reveals The Reason

Disappointing news is coming for the IPL fans especially for Gujarat Titans as the star pacer of the team, Mohammed Shami has been ruled out from the entire tournament of IPL 2024 due to an ankle injury.

According to a recent report, the right handed bowler will now go for an ankle surgery set to happen in the UK. Now, the GT team will look forward to having an ideal replacement for the India’s cricketer.

Press Trust of India(PTI) informed the news related to the bowler on their official Twitter handle.

The statement reads,”India pacer Mohammed Shami ruled out of IPL due to left ankle injury which would require surgery in the UK: BCCI source tells PTI.”

GT has showcased outstanding performance since entering the league in 2022. They clinched the championship in their debut year and came remarkably close to defending the title last year.

Shami played a crucial part in GT’s success during both seasons. The 33-year-old pacer took 20 wickets in 2022 and improved upon that in IPL 2023, securing an impressive 28 wickets with an average of 18.64.
