Exclusive: KL Rahul Does Not Travel With The Team For The Match Against Delhi Capitals

Lucknow Super Giants is set to face Delhi Capitals in the next match of IPL 2024. Both teams will look to gain two valuable points as their window for playoffs is still open. Meanwhile, after the intense talk between the owner of LSG Sanjiv Goenka, and KL Rahul, the skipper has not traveled with the team for the clash against Delhi Capitals.

Reports indicate a potential rift between KL Rahul and franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka following an incident where Goenka reprimanded the batter after Lucknow Super Giants suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad, losing by 10 wickets.

Lucknow Super Giants find themselves with 12 points from 12 games, needing victories in their last two matches to keep their playoff hopes alive. KL Rahul’s role becomes crucial for the team in these do-or-die encounters. However, his performance has come under scrutiny, particularly regarding his strike rate, with former players raising concerns. KL Rahul is also not part of the Indian squad which is going to participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The wicketkeeper-batter has amassed 460 runs this season at an impressive average of 38.33 and a scoring rate of 136.09. Rahul has recorded three half-centuries during this campaign.

Lucknow Super Giants have successfully reached the playoffs in the previous two seasons of the tournament. Despite this achievement, they are yet to secure their maiden IPL title.
