Exclusive: India-Pakistan Match In The 2023 ODI World Cup Rescheduled, Get This New Date In The Tournament

The much-awaited India-Pakistan group match in the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup is likely to be rescheduled to October 14, a day earlier than its initial date. Moreover, there are expected to be additional adjustments to the World Cup schedule. World cricket fans might see some official announcements from the ICC today itself.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah had a meeting last week where he revealed that there was a high possibility of a schedule change in the ODI World Cup. This adjustment was prompted by requests from three cricket boards and it primarily involved altering the dates and times of the matches. The aim of these changes is to reduce the gap between matches to approximately 4-5 days.

Jay Shah said,”Three members have written to the ICC for a schedule change. Only the date and timings will be changed, venues will not be changed. If there is a six-day gap between games, we are trying to reduce it to 4-5 days. The picture will be clear in three-four days. Changes will happen in consultation with the ICC.”

The decision to reschedule the India vs Pakistan clash in the 2023 ODI World Cup was made due to concerns raised by the local police in Ahmedabad. They expressed their problem about being able to provide sufficient security on October 15, which coincides with the beginning of the Hindu festival Navratri.
