Ex RCB player pulls out of CPL due to personal reasons.

In the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 currently taking place, Sherfane Rutherford has withdrawn. Citing personal reasons, the batter of St Kitts & Nevis Patriots pulled out from the T20 tournament, a CPL release stated. This season, he played four matches for the Patriots where he managed to garner 35 runs with an average of 8.75 and strike rate of 194.44 with his highest score being 34 against guyana amazon warriors.

The Patriots have not mentioned who will replace Rutherford yet. Later on, However, Fakhar Zaman also jolted the Patriots who left for Pakistan to play in Champions One-Day Cup recently too. However, the left-handed batsman will now represent Wolves that are captained by Mohammad Rizwan who is also their wicketkeeper.

Two wickets were lost last Sunday when Patriots played Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at Warner Park Stadium. To start with Mikyle Louis scored 63 runs whereas Wanindu Hasaranga took four wickets for 16 runs which were not enough since falcons managed to chase down 154 runs just within two balls remaining.

“And I have to say thank you, but we let them [St Kitts and Nevis crowd] down”, said Andre Fletcher after the match as skipper of patriots adding it’s tough and would like apologize too for not giving win on home soil however it’s not over yet since four more matches remain “We still need to go and play cricket hard we will see how we can get next four victories,” he concluded his speech before leaving the park.

With just one win,the Patriots lie at the bottom of the table with two points and net run rate of -1.183. The next match will be against the Saint Lucia Kings on Thursday September 12, at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.
