Ex-India Star’s Prediction: Yashasvi Jaiswal For Winning The Bigger Prize Than POTM

Team India is up for a five-match test series against England; however, after the first three matches of the series, India is currently leading the series by 2-1.

One of the major reasons for India taking the lead in the series is Yashasvi Jaiswal. The left-handed opener has been in red-hot form throughout the series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has so far scored two double centuries across the six innings. The left-handed opener has scored 545 runs at a mind-boggling average of 109.

However, in spite of such phenomenal performances in the series, Yashasvi Jaiswal so far has not won the man of the match award in the series. In the first test match, the POTM was won by England’s Ollie Pope and then by Jasprit Bumrah in the second test, followed by Ravindra Jadeja winning the award in the third test match of the series.

Nevertheless, team India’s former opener and ace commentator Aakash Chopra believes that Yashasvi may not have won a single POTM thus far, but he will walk away with the Player of the Series award in Dharamsala,” Chopra wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Yashasvi Jaiswal played an important role in helping India defeat England in Rajkot as the opener smashed a powerful 214 studded with 14 boundaries and 12 maximums, helping India post a mammoth score of 557 to chase for England and win it in the end by a huge margin of 434 runs.

Team India will be up against Ben Stokes and Company for the fourth time in the series in Ranchi on February 23.
