Ex-India Star’s Perspective on Pat Cummins’ new role in T20 World Cup

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan praised Australian pacer and Test and ODI skipper Pat Cummins for bringing beverages for his team on Wednesday in Barbados during their ICC T20 World Cup opener against Oman. The captain of Australia, Cummins, who won both the ICC Cricket World Cup and the ICC World Test Championship by defeating India just the year before, was spotted carrying drinks for his teammates during the game against Oman. This is a very admirable and intriguing sight.

Pathan conveyed his amazement at the “Culture” of Australia, which, in a World Cup match, benched their captain, a multiple world championship winner, and one of their biggest stars in favor of Nathan Ellis, a specialist in T20 cricket, to create a team that was far more disciplined and better suited for T20s and to give a non-regular player some playing time. Despite being the captain of Australia that won the World Cup, Cummins was even cheerfully bringing the beverages for his squad without reluctance.

“The CULTURE,” tweeted Irfan

Speaking ahead of the match,When the game started, Oman, who had won the toss, decided to put Australia into bat. Originally, Australia was limited to 50/3. With two fours and six sixes in 36 balls and 56 in 51 balls, respectively, half-centuries from Marcus Stoinis (67 in 36 balls) and David Warner (56 in 51 balls) propelled Australia to 164/5 in their 20 overs. The best bowler for Oman was Mehran Khan (2/38).

Oman lost wickets consistently during the run chase. Oman could only manage 125/9 in their 20 overs and lost by 39 runs, despite best efforts from Ayaan Khan (36 in 30 balls, two fours and two sixes) and Mehran (27 in 16 balls, a four and two sixes).
