This will genuinely be a very hard series for us no doubt. The team has extra confidence following good series, so does the country people. Every game is an opportunity.
We will try to win both of them. Winning depends on many factors: our main goal is always to do the work well. If we do our work well there are chances of us having good results,” said Shanto who was speaking to reporters at the airport prior to their departure for Chennai.
Both tests form part of the World Test Championship cycle of 2023-2025 and so far India has 68.52% at the top and Bangladesh at number four with 45.83%. The last time Bangladesh played in India was during a test series held in 2019 when they lost all matches 2-0.
“Inevitably, we cannot stand against all these in assertive perception. Of late, we have been playing well. We had a good series. We will try to make it come for five days in a row. The result comes in the day’s final session last session. If we play good cricket for five days, there is a chance which team will be a chance for either team to win in the last session,” added Shanto.
However, Najmul emphasized that while Bangladeshis pace can’t compete with Indian’s pacers, on the spinning side it needs no explanation why they make trouble for local boys.
“In our case, both spin and pace are very good, but when you compare it at all India’s pace line seems much more experienced than ours’. Although from spinning point of view we are almost at par with them I would still consider myself ahead because all my spin friends can bowl anyway and this much probably I could say. However, every player will give 100 percent while playing whether he is a pacer or batsman or spinner whatever type of cricket he plays and this makes the difference when we act in unison,” he explained.
When asked about his own goals for the tour, Najmul said: “My personal goal is that Bangladesh team wins and I feel as a batter if I can contribute to the team. The preparation that is required to do that, I have done it. In all fairness, everything else depends on God Almighty and in this respect I can only make contributions for my country.”
