England’s Defeat: A Turning Point in Bazball History

Team India have defeated the visitors, England, and won the Ranchi Test by five wickets. With this victory over England in Ranchi, India has won the series.

This series has been one of the turning points in the Bazball era, as this is the first time that England lost the series under the Ben Stokes and Brandon McCullum partnership.
England lost the Ashes series by 4-0 against Australia, which marked the end of Joe Root’s tenure as skipper. After England’s defeat in the Ashes, Brendon McCullum took over as head coach of the England cricket team and changed the dynamics of their cricket.

Under the coachship of Brendon McCullum, England defeated Pakistan by a margin of 3-0, and they even went on to draw the Ashes series by 2-2 with their attacking and fearless brand of cricket.

Nevertheless, this is Team India’s 17th series victory at home. Before defeating England, India had won 16 series on Trott; they were last beaten by the English team in 2012.

Coming back to the match, the visitors were beaten by just 145 runs in the second inning. Team India needed 192 runs to win the match.
Rohit Sharma (55) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) started India’s chase with an 84-run partnership for the opening wicket.
However, after Yashasvi Jaiswal’s departure, India lost their way as they slipped to 120-5 from 84-0.
