England suffers a massive setback ahead of the ICC champions trophy, Check inside

England suffered a blow ahead of their Champions Trophy campaign after promising all-rounder Jacob Bethell was ruled out with a hamstring injury, captain Jos Buttler confirmed. Bumrah’s four-wicket haul helped India win the second ODI-playing in Cuttack on Sunday, and Buttler said after the game, “I’m pretty sure he is ruled out for the Champions Trophy, to be honest.” Wednesday was the deadline for Champions Trophy teams to send in their updated squads.

“Such a disappointment for him. He obviously did quite well the other day, as has been one of the exciting players. It’s sad that his injury would take him out of the tournament.” The 21-year-old left-hander, who scored a half-century and took a wicket in the first ODI at Nagpur, missed the match here as the visitors brought in batter Tom Banton as a cover.

England embark on their Champions Trophy campaign against Australia on February 22.
