England Star pacer makes a massive statement regarding team India’s victory in the first T 20

Archer felt that luck was in favour of the Indian batters on an unlucky day to earn a huge loss for his team during the first T20I encounter in Kolkata on Wednesday. Archer took two wickets, but the Indian batsmen ruled; opener Abhishek Sharma drilled eight sixes in his innings. Chasing only 132, India easily made off with the match, winning with 43 balls to spare. According to Archer, the Indian batters were “exceedingly lucky” because many balls were miscued up in the air and went into no man’s land.

“I think the conditions favoured me a little more than the other bowlers. The other bowlers bowled well, but the batters were extremely lucky. A lot of balls, up in the air, didn’t go to hand. And probably next game they all go to hand and they’re 40 for six,” said Archer.

Archer also reminded the batters to take their heads up after the loss, because sometimes such things happen in India when a team takes an aggressive approach.

“It’s very important to keep the head up; this kind of thing happens a few times in India, especially in the IPL. Batters are taking the risk, bowlers are also out there taking the risk, and today we were just more unfortunate.”

“You’ve always got to try at the beginning, because if you get three or four down in the power play then teams go about their batting differently in the middle,” a determined Archer said.

“The only way you’re going to learn is if you actually try. We tried; it didn’t come off, so we are going to try again next time,” Archer concluded.

England have started the five match series with a loss, they are set to take on team India this Saturday. Team India leads the 5 match series by 1-0.
