After the end of the ODI series against South Africa on Thursday, February 2, England announced their squad for the upcoming white-ball tour to Bangladesh. Rehan Ahmed, the young bowling sensation who was picked to the squad for both series, will make his white-ball debut during the next tour, which consists of an ODI series followed by a T20I series.
England’s squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh have been confirmed following a convincing victory in the series against the hosts South Africa. Alex Hales will not be playing in the ODI series starting on March 1 since he is playing in the Pakistan Super League, however, various key senior players will be missing because of their commitments to the Test team.
The inclusion of 18-year-old Rehan Ahmed, who impressed in his Test debut against Pakistan in December last year, was a big surprise for English fans. The spinner from Leicestershire, who has been included in both the ODI and T20I teams, is most likely to make his international debut on the next tour. Tom Abell, the star batsman in Somerset’s middle order, is also a candidate to make his debut on the next tour of the subcontinent.
Saqib Mahmood has been called up to the squad for the 50-over series after missing the entire 2022 summer due to a stress fracture in his lower back. Star pacer Mark Wood also rejoins the team after an extended sabbatical, and it is anticipated that he will bowl new ball with the super Jofra Archer.
