Gujrat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma feels that Dube’s improvement as a batsman is good for the Chennai Super Kings, which is a very good sign for team India.
Shivam Dube was the star with the bat for CSK, as the Southpaw scored 51 off just 23 deliveries, helping his side beat the Gujrat Titans by 63 runs.
Speaking about Shivam Dube in a post-match conference, Mohit Sharma says that Shivam Dube deserves a lot of praise for his improvement over the years.
Mohit Sharma said, “How Shivam Dube has improved himself over the past few seasons deserves a lot of praise. If we look at it from a broader perspective, this is good for Indian cricket. Because there are big tournaments coming up. It is a good thing for CSK.”
Mohit Sharma also shared the chat that he had with Shivam Dube and feels that Dubey has a very clear mindset of what he needs to do.
Mohit Sharma said, “When you make a package for a batter, you tend to be a step ahead of the batter. For a player like Dube, it is like he is probably aware that a yorker is going to come in next; a slower bouncer is going to come in.”
“When we were chatting on the ground, I told him it would be difficult to hit the longer part of the ground with my variations. But he was pretty clear as to what he wanted to do and what to avoid. And for me, for a longer period, you need to have that mindset.”
Mohit Sharma further added, “The way that he has batted so far and how he is going at the moment, he has a bright future ahead, for whichever team he is going to represent.”
