Dinesh Karthik Set To Retire From IPL After 2024 Season: Reports

Team India’s veteran wicketkeeper Dinesh Kartik is all set to retire from the IPL after the upcoming IPL season. The veteran wicketkeeper has played over 242 IPL matches and will be seen in RCB colors for one final time.

Dinesh Kartik had a forgetful IPL season in 2023, as the batter only managed to score 140 runs across 13 matches for RCB, with the highest score of 30.

However, Karthik had a phenomenal 2022 IPL season as the batter showcased his powers in death’s overs, scoring 330 runs in 16 matches at an impressive strike rate of 183.33.

A stealer performance in the IPL 2022 season earned Karthik a spot in India’s T-20 World Cup squad as a designated finisher for the team.

However, Karthik failed to replicate his IPL performance at the international stage, scoring 14 runs in three matches.
After the 2022 World Cup, Kartik never got a chance to play for India, which showed that selectors have moved ahead of the wicketkeeper.

Karthik is also not seen playing domestic cricket for his state; looking at his age (39) it is high time that Karthik should bid adieu to international cricket.

Karthik has now chosen commentary as his new profession, is seen doing commentary in various matches, and appears as a cricket expert in various cricket shows.
