Dinesh Karthik Picks These 3 Players As The Potential Debutant For India In Test, Leaves Out Ruturaj Gaikwad

Indian Cricket Team fans again got disappointed when India lost to Australia by 209 runs in the final of the ICC Test Championship played at Kennington Oval. In the match, right after the toss the Australian Cricket team kept their dominance on Rohit Sharma & company. They outplayed team India in all three major departments and won the ICC title under the captaincy of Pat Cummins.

After this major loss, India will now focus on the 2023-25 cycle of WTC and the management will look to rope in some new faces. Meanwhile, the veteran Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik has picked three uncapped players who could be added to the Indian Test Squad for prospects. The surprising part is among these three players Karthik has not chosen the star batter of Chennai Super Kings Ruturaj Gaikwad who is continuously scoring heaps of runs in the domestic circuit.

While talking to Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik said, “I think a bit of both. In many ways we know that a lot of them are in their mid-30s. So few questions there for Rahul Dravid, who he wants to keep and who he wants to move on with. Now other names that you said, Bumrah, Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Pant. Iyer will walk into this team. Let’s make it very obvious. I think they warrant a place in the team. In this cycle, they have been one of the key reasons why we are sitting here and talking in England today because that’s the kind of success they have helped India achieve.”

While picking the players, the RCB batter said, “No. 1 Yashasvi Jaiswal. He has had a phenomenal domestic season. Are we going to find a place for him? No. 2 Sarfaraz Khan. Now that’s been a big name doing the rounds for some time now in the middle order. If you want to fit him in, who are you going to leave out and then followed by the Mukesh Kumars and the rest of them, is there a place for a new medium pacer to come in and stamp his authority over a period of time? Are you going to give him that two-year cycle?”

Dinesh Karthik also talked about the weak bowling lineup of Team India and said, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami were effective in the WTC final but Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav did not impress much with the Duke ball.
