Images and videos of the former Indian captain MS Dhoni practicing with a bat featuring the name of his childhood friend’s sports shop are going viral across the internet.
Dhoni was recently seen at the famous Deori Mata Temple, Ranchi, where the cricketer was blessed before the upcoming edition of IPL 2024. CSK captain has resumed net sessions, intensifying his training for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
MS Dhoni was spotted practicing in the nets using a bat adorned with a ‘Prime Sports’ sticker. Fans on social media quickly realized that the sticker was Dhoni’s way of endorsing a sports goods shop owned by one of his childhood friends.
MS Dhoni has often mentioned the support and motivation he received from his childhood friends in the early days of his cricket journey. One of his friends played a pivotal role in securing his first-ever bat sponsorship.
Paramjit Singh, a childhood friend of MS Dhoni stood with the former Indian captain to lend his support in his tough phase. It was also seen in the biopic of the cricketer – “MS Dhoni – The Untold Story.”

However, Dhoni with ‘Prime Sports’ stickers has created a kind of buzz among fans that it could be the last IPL of MS Dhoni and he is paying tribute to his friend’s company and bringing nostalgia to everyone.
Dhoni did a similar thing before his retirement from international cricket. During the 2019 ODI World Cup, the cricketer played with the bats of different logos in the entire tournament which helped him over the year.
