Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper batsman for India, has recently been in excellent form. In the present Ranji Trophy, the brash batsman resumed his onslaught with a century for Jharkhand against Kerala after smashing his first ODI double century earlier this month.
The emphasis then turned to Ishan Kishan, who discussed the effect of MS Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist as well as his choice of Favourite player.
During a recent interview with the youngest ODI double centurion, Ishan Kishan was asked to choose between MS Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist.
He responded, “MS Dhoni has been my biggest inspiration, for sure. I loved Adam Gilchrist’s batting and wicket-keeping but I have seen Dhoni (bhai) all around – off the field, on the field.
So the calmness that he has, the way he meets people, so these things also matters in life like how you function, and he has also helped me a lot with me being around so many people and how to take care of yourself.”
When Ishan Kishan was younger, MS Dhoni was always brought up, and Ishan considers it a privilege when people do so.
“In a positive way, I feel happy when people compare me with MS Bhai. That means that I’ve got something in me and people want me to see in his place. So, I feel like if I do even 70% of what he’s done for our country, I’ll be happy.”
