Dewald Brevis Names 2 Indians He See As His Idol

MI Dewald Brevis, the batsman from Cape Town, has expressed his gratitude for Suryakumar Yadav and India captain Rohit Sharma. He went on to talk about his IPL (Indian Premier League) playing career with the five-time champion Mumbai Indians.

The exceptional batter had a terrific time playing for the IPL team credit goes to his outstanding efforts in the previous season, when he scored 161 runs in seven innings. Brevis commented on the excellent setup as the batter re-joined the MI organization, this time under the management of MI Cape Town of the SA20. He also revealed that he looked up to superstar players in the squad like Rohit and Suryakumar.

While having an interaction with India Today, Brevis said, “My blood is blue, and my favorite color is blue. So, to just be able to be part of this one family, it’s been amazing like the setup everything is fantastic here in Cape Town, just like it is in Mumbai itself. So, to be part of this family is amazing.”

He further added, “I idolized a lot of players like for example, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar (Yadav) and all other big players, I absolutely enjoyed playing with these legends.”

In six games for the Cape Town team in the ongoing SA20’s debut season, Brevis has scored 135 runs. He also thanked his coach Hashim Amla and Simon Katich for helping him improve his game.

“It’s new things that you pick up from them. They give you vital information. Hash (Hashim Amla), he’s such an amazing coach and person so he just brings calmness in me and helps me move a lot of things,” told the South African batter.”
