Delhi Capitals registered this unwanted record after CSK in IPL 2025

The Delhi Capitals have lost 26 wickets in IPL 2025, with only the Chennai Super Kings losing more at 28. Delhi started off strong this season, but things have turned sour, leaving them in a tough spot. They just faced their sixth loss against Mumbai, which means they’re out of the playoff race.

In that match, Mumbai had a rough beginning, losing their star player Rohit Sharma early for just five runs. Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton managed to show some fight but couldn’t make their starts count. At one point, Mumbai was struggling at 58/3, and it looked like they might not even reach 150. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma were having a hard time too.

Then, after Tilak and Hardik Pandya got out for 27 and 3 runs respectively, Suryakumar and Naman Dhir decided to take charge. Suryakumar ended up scoring an impressive 73 runs off 43 balls, and Naman finished with 24 not out off just eight. Thanks to their efforts, Mumbai set a decent target of 180 runs.

When Delhi batted, they struggled right from the start. Faf du Plessis, standing in for Axar Patel, scored only six runs, and Abhishek Porel matched that. KL Rahul could only manage 11, which put Delhi in a tough position. They lost three wickets in the powerplay, bringing their season total to 26. Just when things seemed to improve a bit with Vipraj Nigam scoring 20 and Tristan Stubbs getting two, Sameer Rizvi and Ashutosh Sharma showed some promise with 39 runs, but it wasn’t enough. Mumbai won the game by 59 runs.
