Indian young pacer has been ruled out from the ongoing ODI series against Australia. BCCI confirms the news on Saturday and announced Washington Sundar as his replacement. Deepak had stiffness in his back while playing the last T20I match against South Africa. That’s why he didn’t play the opening match of the ODI series against South Africa in Lucknow.
On Saturday, BCCI named Washington Sundar as his replacement in the remaining matches of the series. He was also out of the Indian team due to injury but it seems that, he is fit and ready to roar back in this series.
“Deepak Chahar will now head back to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will be monitored by the Medical Team there,” the BCCI stated in an official release.
Deepak Chahar’s injury is another major blow for the men in blue. Recently, leading pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the world cup, and Chahar is one of the contenders to replace Bumrah in the T20 World Cup. Deepak Chahar is a stand-by player in the Indian squad for the upcoming world cup.
