Deepak Chahar Ruled Out Of IPL 2024? India Pacer Does Not Look Good, Says CSK Coach

During the IPL 2024 match against PBKS at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, CSK faced another setback when their key fast bowler Deepak Chahar had to exit the field because of a hamstring injury.

CSK coach Stephen Fleming expressed concern about Deepak Chahar’s fitness, stating that the Indian pacer’s condition doesn’t look good. Chahar’s injury couldn’t have occurred at a worse time for CSK, who were already facing the absence of crucial bowling options.

Matheesha Pathirana did not play the last match due to a minor injury, and pacer Tushar Deshpande is down with the flu. With uncertainty surrounding Deepak Chahar’s fitness, CSK’s bowling squad is facing a significant challenge.

Moreover, Fleming discussed the departure of Sri Lankan players for visa processing, remaining hopeful for their return ahead of the next match. Despite encountering challenges like Tushar Deshpande’s flu.

“Deepak Chahar doesn’t look good. My initial feeling wasn’t great. So we are waiting for a more positive report. Physio and doctors will have a look. Sri Lankan boys are off to get visas. So we are hoping that their process is smooth. And we get them back for our next game up north (at Dharamshala). Richard Gleeson was good, he was positive. Tushar Deshpande got flu, so we had to make a few changes today, which is a bit unusual. But again that’s part of it and we have got resources. It’s just they haven’t got time to be comfortable about their roles and us to be comfortable with the game plan that we are struggling with,” CSK coach Stephen Fleming said in the post-match presser.
