Decoding the Disciplinary Action: Analyzing Sanju Samson’s Penalty for Code of Conduct Breach

Rajasthan Royals Skipper Sanju Samson has been reprimanded for maintaining a slow overrate against the Gujarat Titans. Rajasthan Royals, who were unbeaten so far in this tournament, winning four out of four matches, suffered their first loss of the season against Gujarat by three wickets.

Samson has been imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh because this is the first instance of a slow  rate.
However, Samson had a wonderful night with the bat. The Rajasthan Royals skipper played a brilliant innings of 68, which included seven boundaries and two sixes.

Samson added 130 runs with Riyan Parag for the third wicket after the side had lost both their openers inside the first six overs.

Samson fell short of words after he was asked in his post-match presentation at what point the Rajasthan Royals lost the match.
Replying to the same, Sanju Samson said, ” The last ball of the game (laughs). To be honest, it is very hard to speak at this moment. The captain has the hardest job in the league to speak after losing the game, and to tell where we lost is tough. Maybe after a few hours, I can tell.”

Samson further added, “You have to give credit to the Gujarat Titans for the way they batted, bowled, and fielded. We will learn from this and move on.”

When being asked about the score somewhat less in the first inning, Samson replied, “When I was batting, I thought something around 180 would be a fighting score. I thought 197 was a winning score. There was no dew, and the wicket was a bit dry and low. With our bowling attack, we should have done it, but they batted well. It was not easy to go hard enough at the start of our innings. We paced our innings well. 197 at Jaipur; without dew, you will take it any day.”
